My Experience

Hi, I’m Jennifer, a clinician specializing in financial therapy. I’ve been a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years and I am certified in financial psychology and behavioral finance.

Our relationship with money runs deep because it’s often ingrained in us at a young age, creating what I refer to as a “financial neighborhood.” Much like the physical surroundings we grow up in, our financial neighborhood can influence us for a lifetime. It is the foundation of our “money story.”

In my years as a clinician, I’ve discovered that the majority of people - myself included - carry the hidden weight of their financial neighborhood and money story into adulthood.

The impact goes beyond how we manage or mismanage our finances and has a profound effect on our behavior, self-worth, relationships - even our career choices. This is why money is never just about the numbers.

For my clients, learning how to handle the emotional side of money - the powerful connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors - is the key to having a better relationship with money. Understanding the “why” behind your behavior is the key to changing it, and that’s where financial therapy comes in.

Whether you’re currently experiencing anxiety or conflict around finances, are looking for financial alignment in your relationships, or are going through a life transition, I encourage you to schedule a free 30 minute phone consultation to see if financial therapy is right for you.
